If birding, fishing, and hiking are your favourite activities to do while camping, you should add Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park to your list of places to explore this summer!
Located near Englehart just off Highway 11 in Northern Ontario, Kap-Kig-Iwan is home to the rushing Englehart river that plunges down beautiful white-water rapids, over several cascades and waterfalls in a picturesque valley.
The park is surrounded by forest and offers several hiking trails as well as scenic picnic spots. Many forest songbirds like warblers and flycatchers make the valley their summer homes.
For fishing enthusiasts, Northern Pike, Walleye, Small-Mouth Bass and Brook Trout are the main fish to catch!
There are both electrical and non-electrical campsites available.
If you need an extra vacation spot to discover this summer, this is it!
